David Baldacci's Absolute Power has a good premise, but the way it is executed makes the book less enjoyable. There are several side plots, only tangentially related to the main plot of the book. This took away from the experience of the book because the side plots were often uninteresting and irrelevant. The book also has an abrupt conclusion that does a poor job of bringing closure to the reader. Personally, I was expecting a more fleshed out showdown, but it was only briefly mentioned in the epilogue while leaving several loose ends.
