I enjoy the story line and the characters are interesting. I would give a 4.5. Additionally I recently watched the prequels 1883 and 1923. While Yellowstone is well executed comfort food with beautiful cinematography the spin offs are shockingly great. Both are stand alone. 1883 is beautifully shot and has an expressive narrative that adds layers of complexity and discovery. 1923 brings a series of vignettes together in a well paced engaging storyline. There are elements in 1923 that are historically accurate but difficult. Overall my order of preference would be 1883 then 1923 with Yellowstone third place. So two gold medals and a strong silver. I love the franchise and look forward to more of the Yellowstone universe.
