It has a 90s' Disney channel or Nickelodeon show meets Red and Kitty kind of feel to it. It's not as edgy as the 70s show, but maybe the 70s was just a cooler period. In the original 70s show, the characters, or at least Hyde, were aware of the social political issues going on beyond Point Place. That '90s Show feels very self contained and disconnected with the rest of the world. The characters mostly worry about themselves. So far, the episodes are decent, and the cameos keep the nostalgia value up, but the group don't feel as tight knitt as the original cast. Maybe the writers can turn things around while the nostalgia still keeps viewers coming back.
