Odiyan is a different movie. This is one of those movies which gives more importance/ focus to acting and is not a commercial one. The movie is centered around a village and the things happening there. The scenes are mixed between the past and the present, and this for some audience is nuisance or "lag".
In my opinion the movie is a very good attempt to picturize an untold story - the story of Odiyan. However this movie doesn't cover all the aspects of "Odiyan", and is mainly focused on a particular person's life as Odiyan. The good and bad things happening around him because of his identity.
There are good comedies throughout the movie.
The movie lost the charm because of some unwanted scenes. There is a song in the most inappropriate place and there are some action sequences, which according to me was unnecessary. The Director has to be blamed for these, because he had the option not to include but he didn't. Please don't compare this movie with Pulimurugan or any other movie, otherwise it will the longest movie you have ever watched.
Mohanlal, Manju Warrier and Prakash Raj showcased excellent acting as always they do. Over all this movie was an average for me.
3.5/5
