Reading the reviews, I guess you either love this movie or hate it. I was not expecting to love it, but I did. I found it to be an easy to watch murder mystery. A little corny in some places? Sure. But I didn't have expectations for this to be a realistic crime drama with every detail checked with professionals for realism. What it DID do was deliver an engaging plotline. Alot of what others have described as plot holes or loose ends I view as intentional injections of various underlying messages and issues (don't want to say what because... spoilers). My assumption is if you can appreciate some of the more abstract tidbits that do make it a tad corny, you'll like it. If you are a pretty linear thinker that needs everything to be cut and dry, you'll probably find this movie overdone and too cheesy to watch. Both valid, but hopefully this review helps someone determine whether this movie is for them. I think alot of the "plot holes" would be topics for literary analysis if we were talking about the book vs. the movie. I don't know if that makes sense...but that's where I think the key is being someone who likes abstract tidbits vs. strict realism.
