An ageless poem it is! It foreshadows present consumerism culture and criticizes it. Love for nature was the real religion for him and that ousted institutionalised Christianity , to embrace beloved Nature, he never thought twice to get a 'blasphemous' pagan conversion. A poem on anti materialism, anti consumerism that laments the loss of people's delicate aesthetic sensibility

Astonishingly charged with childhood nostalgia. Pain of loss of innocence and a forcible acceptance of the adult world is recognisable in between the lines. A quality read.
