Does anybody else want to rip their hair out every time Sarma speaks? I literally watched 3 of the 4 episodes and quit because I just couldn’t. If she’s as brainwashed as she needs everyone to believe, then she’s in need of some good (trauma) therapy. I think this is a real possibility. It’s also possible that this is a story that has been sensationalized but isn’t that interesting after all. I’m sure Alec Baldwin was horrified to be mixed up in this little project simply to drum up momentum in the first episode. I gave it 2 stars instead of zero because maybe they wrapped it up by the end of the last episode, but I’ll never know. I would care more about the story if it focused on Sarma’s recovery, but 4 episodes of her shenanigans proved to be too much.

It’s hit and miss. I watched season 1 to the end because some of the acting is good, some of the scenes are good and some of the story telling is good. I also think women warriors are compelling so there’s that. It’s not a complete waste of time. The editing was sometimes weird. It has all the elements but overall they didn’t quite hit the mark to make it “good”. Don’t blame the actors.

Terrible. Just. Plain. Terrible. Only watch if you need to dissociate from life. But remember, you can never get those 2 hours back.

Nick Cage is a beloved actor in my book, but he he seldom throws fans a bone with his choice of work, so I rarely watch him. I put off seeing it because I had a hard time taking the seemingly random premise seriously, but it’s one of the better movies I have watched in years. Storytelling at its best.
