The sound design and cinematography in this movie are great. The music has a cool 80s vibe. The plot is decent, but it falls short due to a poorly written storyline.
The killer’s part is pretty well done. A normal looking guy (in his “civilian clothes”) who does give off some red flags but plays it off as just being quirky/serious before slowly revealing himself to his victims and finally appearing out of nowhere and brutally attacking them. His patterns are consistent, and the symbolism is interesting. However, you never really learn why the killer does what he does.
Some of the actions in the movie stretch so far that it just doesn’t make sense and distracts from the intention of the storyline. There are several scenes where the movie could have ended early (that’s the best I can say without spoilers), which is why I’m only giving this two stars.
The ending was simply infuriating to watch because it seemed as if they rushed through it without thinking logically about most of the key moments. This could have been executed much better and made for a thrilling and truly horrific film.
