This movie was hands down amazing. The fact that you are sitting in theaters for 3 hours and don't realize it is a clear sign of amazing directing.
If you are a fan of Batman, this is probably one of the best films you have watched. I can't believe anyone rated this 1 star. I guess if you don't have haters, you are doing it wrong though, so whatever forever.
This movie should win ALL the awards because of how raw, entertaining, and riveting it is in its entirety. This is what you expect when you see a Batman movie. Matt Reeves nailed it and I really hope he extends this beyond this film because of how truly amazing it was.
I was a little disappointed that this was not connected to the previous Joker (Phoenix) movie and we were introduced to a new one, but understand that this is a different story. I just felt the connection could have been made so well and it fits right in to the style that Reeves portrayed here. This is the only negative thing I have to say about the film though and it's not even bad because if this is built up the way I am hoping it will be, I am beyond excited for what is to come as long as the same time, attention, and effort is put into the films following this one.
Paul Dano Is an incredible Riddler! I couldn't believe how well he played this character and how from the trailer this wasn't expected. I really loved his role in this and hope he appears in the films following as well. It was nice to be truly introduced to the raw version of this villain. The references to serial killers were so cool too! Seeing a nod to the Toolbox Killers, Ted Kaczynski, Marjorie Diehl's collar bomb, and even Zodiac was so entertaining. I couldn't stop watching and I didn't even bother to run to the restroom (the only thing making me pay attention to time because I drank too much tea). Bravo!! Award winning character right here!!
When I think of the characters in these comics I always try to place them with people in real life and this was beyond well done. Robert Pattinson also played Bruce Wayne so perfectly. Wayne is a character overwhelmed with grief and responsibility and Pattinson executes this so well. He isn't some polished guy that previous films have made him out to be. He is rough around the edges and struggling with his own issues making him seem more realistic and true to character.
Reeves, I could go on about this film and how well it was done for days. I am truly so excited to go see it again and I hope to see more from you in the future following this story! Thank you for making my inner child smile with this film! It is very dark but just an all-around amazing and brilliant movie!
