I have known and admired this novel for decades, it never ceases to amaze me as to how timeless the themes are. Racial intolerance, immigration injustices. Political divisiveness and corruption within the church...... persecution and prejudgment of those whom we do not wish to understand. Power, betrayal, deception, murder
