Really wanted this to work. A Velma origin story with POC representation? Count me IN! The problem here is the forced adult humor with the main characters back in high school… and the fast paced humor that simply doesn’t land. The characters (that people have grown up with for decades) are also very unlikeable in this show?? I’ve always said I’d like to see a Mystery Inc “all grown up” show, but this isn’t that at all. After the first episode I immediately turned on the old cartoon and enjoyed that MUCH more🤷🏻‍♀️
