If you read the book, don’t bother, because you’ll be in for a big letdown. Almost nothing was made into scenes so that the movie is one big firefight by the heroic seals, when there was so much more to Marcus Luttrell’s story from his training for buds when he was still a teen from an old retired green beret, to his actual navy enlistment, to buds to the teams, the firefights and then his convalescence in an Afghan village to his rescue by rangers. I can’t believe that Marcus was satisfied with the movie but I guess the money trumped any dissatisfaction he had to have had with the finished product.
