I loved this movie. The lead actress portrays a young woman with a newborn. She is mesmerizing, from start to finish. Beautiful cinematography, brilliant acting, and a storyline that doesn’t have holes or manipulative bits. No movie is perfect: this one drags in a couple, short places. But that’s its only fault, imho. A richly textured mood piece about humanity, love, sacrifice, and motherhood—at the end of the world.

This movie is in the realm of "The Florida Project" and "Sid and Nancy" in terms of the darkness and excellent storytelling, set in an insular, intimate family drama/character study. Like all movies about difficult subjects it's hard to say oh watch this movie you'll really enjoy it but it held me from start to finish all the while knowing *this is reality* for some. I'm astonished by the poor reviews and can only surmise the sadness of the content is the reason. Evan Rachel Wood is stellar. She is one of the best actresses of her generation.

I thought this movie perfect. It will go on my list of favorites. The acting, directing, production, the screenplay--outstanding. The subject matter-- profound. It is said that deaf people are fundamentally different than the hearing. We (and they) talk about "the deaf community" in a way we never hear about the blind, because people without sight can still communicate, be "in community" with the rest of us, on our level. I think there must be a part of the brain where hearing and relating overlap. During the completely silent soundless scenes I felt disconnected from the visuals. This was the only part of the movie I didn't like, but as uncomfortable as it was, the lack of sound gives you a chance to evaluate what sound means to you. Watch it yourself and see if you find the same.

Gripping. Educational. Good acting, well-cast, and excellent directing. I would recommend it.

This movie was fantastic. I don’t understand the critics low reviews. Writing, acting, the direction, and photography were all top notch. It was also an “edge of seat” tension inducer. I pretty much didn’t know what was going to happen except for in the last tense situation. See it!

I just watched this movie tonight and enjoyed it immensely. I am disappointed in the critics poor reviews. No, it is not a perfect movie. It has schmaltzy Hollywood moments and the lead actress is not suited for the role. Perfect Enemies, though, tells a remarkable and powerful story about what heals racism and tells it reasonably well. The lead actor does a Superb job. One critic writes the story would have been better as a documentary but movies—entertainment—sometimes can reach a larger audience than a documentary meant to educate. Despite its faults this is a movie well worth renting.
