Its utter nonsense of the highest order. You will need to take higher leaps of logic than the jumps they do on the moon. The dialogue is cringe worthy and the plot is one bonkers thing to the next. BUT having said all that, it looked stunning in IMAX (especially the megastructure of the moon and the tidal waves) and it had brilliant set piece after brilliant set piece. Good brainless fun. If you are ok with previous efforts you will be fine, if not then pass it by.

A decent first half with interesting fight sequences dissolves into a forced ret con with an incredibly annoying character and a disastrously bland final CGI scuffle. It held promise but conforming to the MCU formula is a real kiss of death for this movie.

Maligned in the press for largely not being "fun" enough, this second movie in the fantastic beasts series delivers a expansive adventure which touches on all avenues of the wizarding world. A sumptuous movie that juggles its various plots deftly and allows the various characters moments to shine. Johnny Depp as Grindlewald is a revelation. Poised but with a palpable menace beneath the surface. While he is an obvious Hitler allegory it works well especially at the movies rousing conclusion. Eddie Redmaine is quirky and charming and is the beating heart of the fantastic beast series. All the supporting cast delivers solid performances with deft direction by David Yates. For those that enjoyed potter when it went dark, this movie is for you. It still has enough laughs and humor but is balanced well with the darker plot lines. Highly recomended.

A superb series that is built upon the idea of change. Rarely perfect but always with its heart in the right place. A different doctor tends to bring in a different show runner which in turns changes the style of production and writing. You will always like one doctor more than others and one style more than others but it is always fun and entertaining for the whole family, young or old. May it never end!

Brilliantly crafted movie that works on many levels with a superlative lead performance, effective soundscape and brilliant direction

This monster 3rd chapter in Zack snyders planned 5 movie arc is a beast. An epic tale of gods and monsters that builds on the world created in Zacks universe. All the characters benefit from the extended run time, with each character having a strong arc. Every member of the team is also vital and useful in different ways, this ensures that the gigantic battles fought throughout the movie allow each member a chance to shine. Steppenwolf is a serious threat in this film, with all the league (except one character in red and blue…..well, just black now.) struggling against his brute strength. Thankfully this movie also sets up DCs big bad in the form of Darkseid, Granny Goodness and Deesad. This gives the film a greater sense of threat to the world and universe at large than if it was just Steppenwolf. This movie also shows more glimpses of the knightmare future with both cyborg and batman having new visions. This harrowing future does a great job of delivering a sense of dread to some of the decisions made in the film while also setting up the planned 2 movies to come. As usual the cinematography is astounding and the soundtrack by Junkie XL builds on the preceding movies themes and compositions while adding extra gravitas to nearly all of it. This film works as a stand alone film, but also enhances and builds off the themes and events from MOS and BVS. While this 4 hour epic could be trimmed down a bit to get theatrical release, it really benefits from allowing it more time to breathe and giving the viewers longer basking in this universe. A true masterpiece.

apparently xboxone/ps4 was the lead platform! haha! garbage on these platforms. i had to return my game. what a joke that no "professional" review sites are even talking about - to the point where they were only able to use pre approved video from CD project red. joke how they can get away with it.

while the debacle around the CGI can make it hard to watch at times (not the glorious space battles, more the composite shots) it is a superlative series with grand ideas and great execution. series 5 steps down in quality slightly due to behind the scenes issues but it was a 5 year series that was planned as such. the birth of modern narrative series. superb.
