Cinematic masterpiece, everything a prequel should be. Incredible story, visuals, acting, music, suspense and editing. If you loved the hunger games, this is a must watch. If you didn’t, watch it anyways, it makes the entire trilogy better.

They spend the first 20 minutes basically trying to get you to hate the main character, as a lazy and cruel young adult. The next hour nothing happens. Just half baked relationship drama without the drama, because there is zero dramatic tension, partly because you can’t empathise with any of the characters. There’s no great comedy, cinematography, or lines. Film students could make better.

The perfect fantasy film. That’s really all there is to say. If you like fantasy you’ll love this film. Humour and visuals are both highlights
