Absolutely incredible. I’m not a parent, but have experienced severe depression from grief and found the directors approach to expressing her depression- in the scene where she rolls away into the sofa and then how she is in a deep well even though she is physically right in front of you to depict her hiding deep within herself is the BEST example of what it’s like when you’re living and trying to function with severe depression. Beautiful. Inspired. Moving. Powerful. Inspiring for both men AND women in abusive relationships (both physical and emotional). It shows the good and bad side of state resources, processes, legal support, and the work force. It’s a tough world and she FREAKING TAKES IT BY THE BALLS AND COMES OUT ON TOP. On top of the “M”.
MUST.
