72 Seasons is like the Reload of this late stage Metallica Era, and I mean that as the highest of compliments. Death Magnetic is a mature take on all of that complexity and aggression that drove so much of Early Metallica Albums. Hardwired sees in the Era of more simple songs, but perhaps still missing some subtlety. And 72 Seasons brings us to Reload, where so polished is the production, so well connected is the album, so secure in themselves have they become, that you get a listening experience focused on vibes and groove that it is as consuming and impressive as it is easy listening.
72 Seasons sails by, and is a fantastic, vital addition to the band's journey.
