The constant retconning of TLJ, as well as the radiant fetch quest plot, were incredibly lifeless and boring as a normal movie. As a Star Wars movie: it completely trivializes everything that happened in the OT and the Prequels, It refuses to give any reason why Palpatine comes back beyond the "oh people like Palpatine right? yeah, that'll solve this boring ass plot.", and it misuses characters and sorely misses ones that were killed of in the last movies, ie. Luke. As a Star Wars fan, it didn't sting as much as TLJ but I think it solidifies how little I enjoy modern Star Wars.
