Terry Fromenthal

I'm a horror movie fan and new to reading books. I have read a few Stephen King novelas and this was my first novel as a suggestion from my local book store employee who is also a fan of horror. He said "this book scared me" and boy did I really want this book to just that for me. I like the characters of Merry and Marjorie and admire the strength of their relationship throughout the book. The blogs seemed to break any rhythm gained during the interesting occurrences - my favorite parts. I'll admit, I count pages and as I neared the end of the book a sense of anxiety came upon me looking for that scare - It just didn't happen for me. I was really disappointed with how the book ended. The book was easy to read and I did enjoy it, with exception to the blogs. Maybe I am just a bit ignorant to how a book could or should scare me and that is my rational for the overall rating. I will read another book by the author.
