“There was before you and there was during you. For some reason, I never thought there would be an after you.” This is the fourth book I have read by Colleen Hoover. Absolutely my favorite so far! I rarely finish books in two days but this one had me hooked. Mrs. Hoover never disappoints!!! The idea of the love interests getting along entirely late in the book is what got me. Of course Ledger started to grow empathy for Kenna close to the middle of the book but he never showed it until he truly got to know her. I loved being hit with dramatic turns or tensions arising. The complicated and harsh verbal fights between Kenna and Ledger in regards to her daughter. Sounds awful but I was excited to believe that they would eventually fall for each other. I highly highly highly recommend this book. I cannot say that enough. Best book I have read this year so far!!!!

A very short book to read if you are caught in a reading slump or want to get back into reading but don’t know where to start. A few chapters were compelling while others were not. There were a few choppy sentences which was difficult to read but it was not my major flaw. I would not entirely say this is a romance book but rather focuses on platonic soulmates. Or at least that is how I see it. I loved the chemistry between Dannie and Bella. They have a beautiful friendship. Is it bad that I was kind of hoping for them to end up together? The ending was tragic and devastating but also uncomfortable if I say. Although we know what happens because Dannie experienced the moment five years prior. It still was disagreeable for what both Aaron and Dannie did. Not the ending I was hoping for.

“It’s so exhausting pretending to hate you.” This was definitely one of those books where I could not put down considering this is an enemies to lovers trope (my favorite trope). I just loved how Olive and Ethan’s relationship started off despising each other with an untold truth as to why it started that way. But of course their connection unveiled into a sweeter relationship when they are both covering for a honeymoon that was not theirs to begin with. I had never read a plot similar to this one before but the idea has only crossed my mind a few times. I was so thrilled to find a book that revolved around that idea. It has reached all of my expectations. Two enemies embark on an adventure together and slowly become closer with each activity they do on the trip and the pretending to be married aspect when they cross paths with people they know. I would highly recommend this book to those who are into that!!

I was quite staggered after friends have told me that they disliked this book. That they did not receive the full affect of agitation and being completely fearful about what comes next. After learning that this was Hoover’s first horror book, I think she did an excellent job. She portrayed Verity as “petrifying” and “disturbing” perfectly. The incorporation of the manuscript was the reason why I enjoyed reading it. I was so curious as to what lead Verity into the position she was in. Of course we could have learned that from Jeremy but Verity was holding too many secrets and I think that was clear to the reader from the start. The book definitely would have lacked dread if it wasn’t for the manuscript. I would consider this to be a fairly easy read if you find yourself in a reading slump. It is very fast paced. Overall, I really enjoyed it and highly recommend it!

After reading “Ugly Love” by Colleen Hoover, I was a little skeptic about picking this one up. I was afraid I would be left disappointed again but I was completely wrong. This is by far my favorite book I have read in a while! I loved how this book tackles the unpleasant and harrowing side of relationships. It approaches real life situations that aren’t often found in books like physical abuse and rape. I knew Ryle wasn’t a good person from the start and I absolutely despised him all the way to the end. I know he had adoration for Lily but what he has done to her (several times) is inexcusable. I would have loved to see more Atlas in this book considering how affectionate and caring he was towards Lily but as I mentioned before, this books intention was to address the troubling side of relationships so I am glad she left it that way. Overall, I relish this book with all of my heart. I cannot wait for the second one!
