Absolutely terrible remake. One of my favorite books, and they completely wrecked it. I get that sometimes changes have to be made to make the movie work within a certain time limit, but if you're going to change the entire plot, why not just make an original story?? There were a couple redeeming parts to this movie, namely the soundtrack and the acting of Zac Efron and Ryan Kiera Armstrong. Honestly, the acting of those two made me want to keep giving the movie a shot but wow the other actors were all so bad, it isn't possible to bring this one back up into the positives. Also, what they did with Rainbird's character was so dumb. They took a creepy character and just made him cringey. I usually feel pretty satisfied with Stephen King remakes, but I really wish they didn't touch this one.
