After hearing a lot of mixed reviews about *Vettaiyyan* during its theatrical release, we decided to watch it on OTT, and surprisingly, we really enjoyed it! It’s a movie that tackles societal issues, raising questions about various conflicts in people’s minds related to human rights, which are very relevant today. The entire cast did justice to their roles, and while Rajinikanth's character was strong, Amitabh Bachchan's screen presence and the stance of his character seemed to overshadow Rajinikanth’s a bit. This could be why fans felt it didn’t align with their expectations, but, as an audience, it’s refreshing to see Rajinikanth in a role that showcases his acting skills along with his trademark style.
Manju Warrier, though she had limited screen time, delivered a solid performance. Fahadh Faasil’s character had a lighter, more comedic tone, which may have been a departure from the intense roles he’s known for. Some audiences may have expected his usual powerful presence, but as an actor, he showed versatility, and it was a welcome change from typecasting that can make characters feel repetitive.
Overall, *Vettaiyyan* was worth watching! If you’re expecting a *Jailer*-style film, this might not be your cup of tea, but for those open to a thoughtful narrative and strong performances, it’s definitely worth a watch.
