I hate to be a downer, but this movie was absolutely terrible. Not an ounce of joy anywhere in the movie, and the one thing that should be enjoyable regardless is the worst, the songs, the singing, is worse than some joke auditions for reality singing shows. It is poorly performed, by any measure. I read reviews calling this a killer performance, with great music. If you have any love for Elton’s music, do yourself a favor and skip this mopey/corny pitch awful rendition of some of the best music ever written. The music is really really bad. It’s borderline a crime against humanity.
