I assumed this series would be dull and depressing. Instead I find it intriguing, inspiring and uplifting. A welcome change after all these mediocre,, trivial, miniseries, on the main channels. Great story telling, casting and music. The spontaneous and natural acting style reminds me of The Gallows Pole.

On the whole I enjoyed reading it. It had good narrative pace and kept me intrigued to the end. Weak points? Poor character development. The 3 story tellers Rachel, Megan and Anna were too similar, 3 flawed human beings. Came across as the same person. The 2 key men Scott and Tom were also too similar - crude basic men. The finale was simply unbelievable - a knife, yes, a corkscrew - no.
