I'm not shocked but I am disappointed. They are rushing key items to the book, there was a whole reason it takes so long to introduce the characters and get the plot started. chiron handing percy the pen as if it's nothing? wow! i like the character of chiron so far but i can't believe he's not a white stallion, like just his lower half. that might have been weird but still! annabeth can be black, that's fine. but at least the silver eyes. that's a MUST. it's one of annabeths most defining features. i haven't seen clarisse yet but i know im going to be disappointed based on other reviews. people who haven't read the books or seen the movies before probably won't be upset, but even if you've only seen the previous movies, you'll notice a stark difference. I personally don't see it as a good difference, you might feel different. I just feel like nobody will be able to replicate the books how they should be. i first read these books in middle school when they first came out. these books really were the ones i grew up on, i read almost all of them (not the new new ones). i loved these books, ive reread and relived it in my imagination. it's hard to recreate but i think we deserve better than what we've been given.
