ANDREW BRIDGES

Not his greatest film but surpassed my expectations with a great cast, great filmography, great story and a thoughtful ending. Parts were unlike previous Wes Anderson films I've seen (little Musical number, three linked characters) and others (stop motion) very much as expected. Let's be honest though if you don't like Wes Anderson films you unlikely to like this as he is very much a Marmite film maker and whilst I don't like Marmite I do love Wes. For all those that didn't like this I equally get it so no harm no fail . Maybe approach with an open mind and you'll either love it or not. If love it great if you hate it so what in the greater scheme of things, I can pretty much assure you that it won't feature in your top 10 worst life events when you are lying on your death bed. Ps The 3 daughters were my favourite characters hands down .

Quirky film not what I expected. Cast were all good and it was both funny and suspenseful. I think the key thing to bear in mind when beginning to watch is that you will soon become aware that the world this is set in is not to be taken literally and instead should be treated more like a Morden fairy tale with a (admittedly twisted) moral theme, alongside some not so subtle digs at the modern trend to fetisheized food into something much more than sustenance. If you treat it like the fable it is (in my mind) meant to be you'll enjoy it free from some of the logical inconsistencies presented in the story.

It's.. ok... Not much else. Overly CJI ending, hero that doesn't earn it as they are beaten by most other people until they get a power step up, humour that hits 50% of the time and fight scenes that are competent but when compared to the master Mr J Chan in the likes of Police story, Armour of God etc suffer in there CJi Ness It's ok is all I can say, I liked Akwafina, I liked Simu Liu and Tony Leung is as great as always but ultimately it was just ok. Probably not meant for this 45 year old white British bloke so take that with a pinch of salt and I think my issues were the story not the characters but it was.. Ok.. Although it's got.... SPOILER! Wong in it and I love Benedict Wong he can do no wrong so factor that in ,😎

I liked the first series, nothing ground breaking but entertaining, interesting and amusing, perhaps more so if you are a fan of Star Wars but I'd argue still great if you are not so familiar. Into episode 2 of series two and now I have gone from liked to love! Hopefully I don't eat my words but two episodes in and it's everything it was before but better. Seriously every episode is a mini film and the special effects, acting, scope is amazing for the so called small screen. Highly recommended.
