Rabbi Menachem Creditor

I wish I had a positive thing to say about this movie. It's a highly public vision of Jewish tradition, and it barely got anything right (Rabbi Rebecca was the only place I felt resonance). But it was so disturbing on so many levels that the good parts felt diminished. What made me the most upset? The horribly wasteful, ostentatious mega-parties - that is not healthy, nor accurate. I hope this movie pushed kids and families to reaffirm humility as a Jewish (and human) value.
