Awful. Started off extremely well, looking at the suicide of Jeremiah de Saint-Amour and his relationship with Dr Urbino, but once the insipid and obsessive character of Florentino Ariza is introduced, what follows is a biography of the most boring and pathetic man and his insane fixation of a woman over the course of decades. His character has all the intrigue and charisma of a snail, and as much as I tried to force myself to finish the book, I had to call it quits after 3/4s of the way through, as I couldn't bear wasting a minute more of my precious life reading about the sniveling Florentino Ariza.
