Having grown up with the original BBC series and with fond memories of watching tv as a family I have to be honest in having low expectations of this recent remake. Oh how wrong I could be! Simply wonderful, it’s like putting on your favourite jumper or pyjamas, sitting in your favourite seat, memories, nostalgia, warmth and most importantly fun! Samuel West as Siegfried is an absolute revelation. The most important thing is the production team did not feel the need to sink to the current woke narrative and stick to the times, thank goodness. Still am surprised that C5 picked it up who knows a traditional family show could bring in viewers? Well knock me down with a feather
