Fantastic show with an original premise, excellent score and soundtrack, it held a lot of intrigue, could be genuinely funny, was sexy as hell, and encapsulated 2000s L.A unlike any other show of the time. It held millions of viewers according to it's own ratings, but it was canceled. My theory on this is simple, the show got too real. Even the pilot episodes second character to even speak was a trope on Harvey Weinstein 18 years before he was even arrested. Let that sink in. Like many shows of the time he had some pop culture sway such as the Audi R8 being used the same time Iron Man 1 used it, things like that, but it holds up to this day, and everyone I've talked to about it has said the same, it was fantastic. The writing was good too, camera work was never choppy and cutty, but frankly FX was pro Nip Tuck and they wanted more viewers. Let's be frank, this industry is about money, not art, so dump the art and go all in in the cash cow. That's what happened. Money, and it got too real for the elites who note than likely retaliated against the show because of it's open jabs at the truth. Courtney was perfect for Lucy, I cant think of any ok ne else to fit this role than her. That and at the time her and her good friend Jennifer Aniston kissed on this show for the first time. It blew up on YouTube at the time in its infancy as a website, and made national headlines.
