This movie is spectacular, everything I loved about the first spider verse is here and as others will say, pumped up to 11,
The music this time round is a lot better, the first film had good songs but I don’t feel like they mixed as a whole, however this time round it all manages to blend together nicely
To my surprise the animation somehow surpasses the original in tons of ways incorporating tons of visual styles, seeing how well the first movie did, it was only fate that the studio would give them more money and creative freedom to let the creators cook
As for the story it’s good but I have a grudge,
SPOILERS obviously
So a major part of the movie revolves around miles destiny being that his father is supposed to die, and miles is just supposed to let him die and it’s very painful to watch, and the collection of spider people make an intervention to stop miles by trapping him, but the thing is…their all spider-men? Am I to believe that miles is the only one that’s fighting against this fate, the one that gets me the most is the cameo spectacular spider gets with one line of dialogue, this rubs me the wrong way cause in the very first episode of spectacular spider-man he saves Norman Osborn (a very corrupt individual) from the gripes of vulture cause and I quite “I can’t let Harry lose his father the same way I lost mine), I refuse to believe that he would go along with this, their are some spidermen such as Dan slotts amazing Spider-Man that would go along with this twisted fate, but not spectacular and certainly not everyone Miguel hired.
Other smaller gripes include certain characters not getting enough screen time for their smaller character arcs, such as hobbie, and spider byte, but that’ll probably get done in the sequel, the only other gripe is a lack of screen time for spot, and the way his plan comes together all to quickly, but I guess it’s that way so we can get a scene with Miguel which is awesome.
Either way awesome movie and I’m very excited to see where the sequel is gonna take this trilogy.
