As a retired clergyperson on the UMCGNJ, I have had some limited contact with that bishop, but what contact I've had has been enough
to know he has abused his power by intimidating those around him.
His teachings about leadership are perfunctory, textbook, but are
hypocritical. How he can call himself 'Christian' after all I have heard
from colleagues, only confirms to me that the UMC is in deep, deep
trouble. His leadership style amounts to apostasy. Beth is correct in calling him out.
