The Sadness is not a typical zombie horror flick like Train to Busan or World War Z. Instead of a mindless horde, the infected in this film are intelligent, personal, and downright terrifying. This movie is not for the faint of heart, but true horror fans will find themselves in an excessively bloody and horrific tale that leaves none unscathed.
While I do find the use of sexual violence to be extreme it nevertheless conveys a deeper level of horror I have not seen zombie movies explore. The directors of this film spare no one’s feelings, and like their zombies they are trying their best to frighten, offend, and disgust the audience. For me, they certainly hit their mark.
