The reviews aren't wrong. Some people are just blinded by fandom.
Days Gone has been a game promoted for years and constant delays. With all the extra time they took the game could be better.
The reviews weren't wrong when they said Deacon is selfish and the story doesn't criticize him for it. Also, the gun play is stale and boring with some really low ammo amounts able to be held which is honestly fine I don't mind it that much.
A lot of the story just seems bland and boring and a lot of it ends abruptly and doesn't seem finished. You can be right at the end of what you're thinking will be am awesome end to part of the story and boom it's over and you're left thinking what?
There is nothing new or innovative to this game it's just your standard cookie cutter open world zombie survival game with the most basic of mechanics. Nothing special or fun. Even the motorcycle part could use work. They could have learned from Dying Light which is a much better game in my opinion. The movement and combat style they implemented into that game is what really made it stand out.
Sure Days Gone isn't the worst game I have ever played but it's far from as good as all these people are claiming it to be in here. They're blinded by fandom.
This game is nothing like The Last of Us, and Dying light so people making the comparisons are lying to you. Also, someone mentioned it had assassins creed elements to. That is a lie as well.
The game could be a lot better with a more convincing storyline, a finished storyline, punishing Deacon for being so selfish, better gun play, and better movement.
So, no it's not a 10/10 game like The Last of Us like people are claiming. Days Gone is a solid 5/6-10 game. There is some fun to the game but too many bad elements for a higher rating. But, I suggest you play it for yourself and see what you think. Cause what some judge harshly others feel the opposite. Rate the game yourself and if you like it awesome if not I don't blame you. Hope this helps.
