Fantastic. Funny, unique, even poignant at times without being too on the nose. Taika Waititi struck gold again. Wide base of appeal. So much fun!

Genuinely terrible movie. Not entertaining or compelling. The Wayne Family tie ins are stupid and ineffectual. For a non-superhero movie it uses every played out trope ever. Elementary school level bullies, Luke I’m not your father, and a poorly-built peasant revolt set on the backdrop of a garbage strike that 1. Isn’t a big deal or relevant and 2. They forget exists intermittently. Phoenix is fine I guess but they make Joker out to be basically a somewhat functional mentally disabled person and it’s not fun to watch and there is no great artistic message or take. No value to the re-interpretation of a classic villain. Just a turd in the microwave painted with a big red smile.
