Halle Bailey’s beautiful voice couldn’t save this live action remake. Scuttle and Flounder unfortunately became unmemorable and Sebastian’s voice just didn’t do it. The new songs added no substance to the film and it lacked the magic of the original. I’m usually a fan of Melissa McCarthy, but her portrayal of Ursula fell flat. Ursula is a bigger than life character who is scary and devious, you didn’t get that from McCarthy. Disney did a horrible job in comparison with other companies in terms of graphics, which is sad with how much money they make. Although they explained to an extent what happened to Ariel’s mother, it left me wondering… who are the other daughters mothers because the math ain’t mathin??
