At a time when our leaders are ratcheting up tension between the US and Russia and the US and China, I'm glad to see a movie that points to the horror of nuclear war.. unfortunately, like a lot of other themes in the movie, this issue was given a confusing surface treatment. I really enjoyed the nerd fest of seeing the scientists I've read about on the big screen but .. most just popped in with a brief mention of their name and, if lucky, role in the Manhattan Project. Why was this movie at the IMAX? It was painfully loud at times and the test explosion scene lasted a few min at most. I think there is much more to Oppenheimer than we saw in this film so I for one am going to do some reading. The idea that our leaders are escalating conflict with other nations with nuclear capabilities is petrifying. It's time we act boldly and let our leaders know that use of these weapons in unacceptable for any reason.
