One of the most confusing books I've ever read. Too many themes are being tackled at once. We have Miles with PTSD Miles working up his courage to ask out his crush and institutional racism and Ganke's parents being divorced. Most of the book is spent foreshadowing a big epic battle with his Spider-sense going off CONSTANTLY but he's never really shown to be in any danger. LIKE "OH NO! THE RACIST BADGUY (who somehow knows Miles is black?) FRAMED HIM FOR STEALING SAUSAGES." And that's not an exaggeration. And I read this on an E-Book and no real fight scene occurs until you get 98.6% of your way through the book. I've enjoyed other books by this author, so I was pretty disappointed with this book, but I recommend you read Jason Reynold's book Ghost, if you're looking for something good to read.
