It's not at all like the original and it's not trying to be, it's closer to the graphic novel. And a little slow to start but once it picks up it's really damn good! With a great new twist style ending and a beginning where they explore the romance between Eric and Shelly more in depth and we get to see their relationship develope further, Shelly is a much more fleshed out character than in the original and the action sequences are quite brutal and entertaining. Actionwise it's tarantino level good. Very moody good cinematography soundtrack all around a great experience.
