I strive to be an informed American and an informed voter. The bias curdles my blood. Your job is to report the news, not create it. I drove through Portland, Oregon last week. I did not recognize it. The devastation is everywhere. I do not understand how anyone, regardless of your political views, can accept the violence and destruction that will impact generations to come. The rhetoric is that we "borrow" the land from future generations and that we should walk a mile in our neighbors shoes. The destruction in Portland, in my opinion, was worse than anything that has been depicted and reported on TV. I doubt that Portland will recover in my lifetime. And who is going to pay for it?
Is there anyone in your organization with the backbone to interview business owners who have lost their life's work? How about interviewing everyday homeowners who, whether or not they are directly impacted by the destruction, will eventually feel it through higher taxes, higher insurance rates, and etc. How about some real reporting of real issues?
You get ONE STAR simply because the system will not allow me to give you NO STARS. It is pertinent to say - up until now, I have been a lifelong Democratic voter. I come from poverty - the projects - and I was lucky enough to get a good public education that allowed me to qualify for grants and scholarships. I recognized my angels - teachers, neighbors, strangers, who directly or indirectly guided me - influenced me positively - with my interests in mind, not theirs. Seeing others enjoy the fruits of their labors inspired me to set goals and work hard towards those goals. Robbing young people of education and worse of their right to question, learn, and formulate their own opinions is criminal. No one, not even a parent, has the right to rob a child of their right to have their own aspirations. Fueling hatred is akin to welding educational blinders to peoples heads. They only get to see what you have decided they will see. You should be ashamed.
