(NO SPOILERS) I believe this is a great movie overall. It has phenomenal jumpscares to where even if you saw it coming it'll still get you. The suspense in it is held through well and it does what a horror movie should do. This is what a horror movie should be, where it has at least a half decently built plot that keeps you scared to be alone and makes you jump. The way the story is told is brilliant with the way it connects to the current timeline. The only reason I couldn't give 5 stars is the very end. It leaves too much up to the imagination, which if I'm being told a story it should not be me making the story up. I believe the ending is one of the most important parts and this film didn't execute how it could have. Otherwise if you're just in it for the horror and scaryness then this is a 5/5.

NO SPOILERS/ Deserves a 7 out of 10(3.5 stars). The movie is not to watch if you are an avid jumpscare fan. It's a strung out story, however, a well executed storyline. It keeps you tensed up and the end is relatively unpredictable. It reminds me a lot of Sinister, except more focused on the story and less of the murders. This movie felt a lot more like a thriller rather than horror movie. There were pieces of the film that felt like didn't belong but didn't remove anything important from your experience. The movie requires patience and not just being there for a couple jumpscares. It is however a great watch and I do recommend it. It, again, keeps you on the edge of your seat and keeps your hairs on your neck standing up. It's a more lingering horror where you'll feel afraid to leave your room at night rather than just being jumpscared or feeling afraid in the moment. The videography is strong with the camera angles and effects of the background doing a great job of adding to the fear ambience and setting the tone. I can't decide whether it's more a 4 or 3 star movie but I finally decided more of a 3 star.
