This film is nothing short of brilliant. The intimacy that gradually develops between the taxi driver “Clark” (Sean Penn} and the passenger “Girlie”( Dakota Johnson) is shared by the viewer, who is an observer in the interior of a yellow cab with the driver and his passenger for the entire film. In the drop off scene at the end, its as if we are all emerging to stretch our legs and feel the cool air of early evening. Then we see the acute dramatic finish, punctuated by Clark’s slamming shut the trunk lid. This has been a shared ride we will not soon forget!
