The game was alright. I watched my friend played it and got to try it too, but he returned it after a major character's death. It offered a fresh perspective on the game. As a huge fan of Marvel and DC, I usually dislike live-service games with microtransactions, but SSKTJL wasn't as bad as Marvel's Avengers. Unfortunately, it seems like most games these days rely on microtransactions for weapons and enhancements, which I don't understand why people would want to spend money on.
The graphics and character designs were impressive, but the storyline didn't quite measure up, especially since I spoiled it for myself by watching the rest of the walkthrough on YouTube.
If this was RockSteady's final superhero game, I think they made a mistake by turning it into a live-service game. I remember a mobile game where you played as a villain trying to defeat Batman, and it was disappointing. I'm not sure where RockSteady will go from SSKTJL.
I still believe we haven't seen the last of the Justice League, considering the existence of other multiverses. Hopefully, there will be an opportunity to kill off the brain controlled Suicide Squad and Amanda Waller in another universe, which would be amazing. I also think the JL will come back, Brainiac using Flash’s powers, RockSteady is up to something.
I think the game developers showed a lack of appreciation for the superheroes, which really upset a lot of fans. But we have to remember, it's just a video game, so there's no need to get too worked up about it. I believe the game could have been a success if it had been a Justice League game, especially considering we haven't had one since the PSP, as far as I can remember, excluding the mobile games and DC Universe.
I was incredibly excited for the game, but I felt let down due to Batman's death. I was really looking forward to another future Batman game, but it seems like that may not happen now. Perhaps this is a way to retire the character and start fresh with a new Batman game, but it's hard to say for sure.
If video game developers can learn from their mistakes and avoid upsetting millions of fans, I believe they can achieve greater success and generate more transactions.
Overall, in my opinion:
Gameplay 6/10
Graphic 10/10
Storyline 3/10
2 stars because the game is extremely repetitive, still a good standalone game, but gladly I didn’t waste my money on it.
I'm getting tired of Harley Quinn; we need a new villain to take her place. It seems like everyone hopped on the bandwagon after her prominent role in the first Suicide Squad movie, becoming fans without really knowing anything about the comics. But that's a story for another time.
