Lily Collins plays a very young woman who is a District Attorney in New York, despite foregoing court to explore a bunker in which her dead father has held a man captive for many years. (Her father dies at the beginning of a heart attack that resembles nothing so much as a severe poisoning, but this is ignored and not part of the plot.) The bunker is not hidden whatsoever on the property. Lily Collins begins her interaction with this imprisoned stranger by handing him a weapon and giving him teenage sass. The inmate is played by Simon Pegg, who is alternatively the most well-adjusted person ever deprived of air, light, and human contact for more than a quarter of a century, and fond of reciting the ingredients of a key lime pie. Also the dad had another secret family, and Lily Collins is more upset about this than anything. This movie is atrocious.
