I enjoyed it more than I expected to; largely because of the excellent performance by Katee Sackhoff, which had me wanting to follow the plot of this film so badly.
The writing and direction in this film is so bad, I honestly think it could have been the result of an AI amalgamating the plot summaries of several actually-good sci-fi movies. The story goes everywhere, and ends up nowhere. It's trying to do too much at one time, and ends up doing nothing well.
The incoherent plot and juvenile dialogue make for a very unsatisfying ending. It's trying really hard to be like 2001, but has none of the deep insight or high ideas.
All in all, it's a film that tried really, really hard to be a good film, but fails hard.
