If the point of the movie was display Mr Defoe’s acting skills and a close examination of his physical appearance then it was great. If not the story was overly long, bordering on the absurd and quite a chore to sit through until a disappointing finale. I felt as though it was a film school project that would have gotten a C- in 1988.
