When the opening credits came on, and I saw Aamir Khan Productions I knew the film was going to be amazing. But amazing feels like such a small word. I'm writing a review for a film after a very long time. It would be a crime not to appreciate this film. It's a visual delight, the background score is mesmerizing. Biplab Goswami seems to be a very inspired man, the story is perfect. Full marks to Sneha Desai for making sure the screenplay did justice to the story. Kiran Rao's direction is exceptional and she keeps you glued from start to finish. Every character in this wonderful and amazing and you can relate to all of them, be it Chotu, dadi, deepak, phool, Jaya. You feel for all of them. This is a simmering film, the one that boils to a broth that leaves you craving for more. I feel so attached to these characters I want a second part so that I can see Jaya achieve wonderful things, Phool start her own business with Deepak. And most importantly Ravi Kishan's character getting promoted. This has to be his best work to date, I went from laughing at his character to despising him to absolutely loving him. Hell I can write about each character in detail as to why you'd love them. But that would be injustice to them, to the actors, to the writers and the directors. The only way to appreciate this film is to watch it two times atleast, because one helping just gets you started. Hats off!!
