Who cast those actors? Jeffrey Donovan is not telegenic and a weak actor. Camryn Manheim? What a retread. How many shows have we seen her in? To borrow from Dorothy Parker, they both run the gamut of emotions from A to B.
Maybe the show will improve.

This movie is dark and dull. Who is the protagonist? The only character I liked was the deaf girl. Too many time jumps. And too long.
