I think this movie deserves more credit than it got, or gets here now. In a psychology or philosophy class, there is plenty to talk about. Are we all Misfits in our own way, wanting freedom like the the men and the wild horses? Are women trying to lasso men and tame them? How can we know for sure if someone loves us? Is it how hard we wave goodbye to someone leaving on a train? Is it always having a spare tire handy in case of an emergency? Is it caring how people feel, and measuring it? "I dont think you know how to love anybody" if true is a handicap. is a a study in the Mars vs Venus days? Were you trying to figure out which of the 3 men would be the best for Marilyn? I was. i believe she showed her true colors all during the movie. But the men revealed more of themselves during the horse hunt. I think the divorcee and Marilyn were a lot alike. And that john Huston knew that. And her husband, Arthur Miller, knew that. The movie also drew attention to the tragedy of our wild horses, which is still happening, in 2021. This is how the men showed their true colors. I wasnt thrilled that Marilyn chose Clark. but maybe they had a happy life after all? with their children having an old father?
