So, this is review by someone who once didn't watch movies or tv for ten years, who doesn't know more than a dozen actresses total, so read at your own discretion. I have not watched a horror movie in years but my partner kept bringing it up, so I watched it in theaters with her. I liked how many nods that owed homage to the original Alien was in the movie. I loved the suspense of silence, just knowing there's about to be something terrifying, something that will make you jump and sometimes, being able to hear an icee straw suckling the last drop of ice in the movie theater. I really liked some of the themes of AI: can it be made for good, in a human sense or will it always go off the algorithms without nuance? If you're looking to see big time horror scares and think about a movie after you see it, without having to put on your mad scholar thinking hat... watch this movie.
